About Ian Lin

With more than 10 years of product design experience in application performance management (APM), real estate, computer networks, and health care, Ian Lin is a seasoned product designer passionate in delightful user experience and user workflow optimization for intuitive human-computer interaction.  He is a veteran in diagnosing information architecture and building data visualization strategies to lead the users to explore and slice-n-dice complex data to retrieve key insights like customer/campaign conversion, application performance highlights, data-driven home buying process, network management/troubleshooting, etc. 

Ian also regularly speaks in conferences, like Tableau Conference, Data Visualization Summit, Data by the Bay, etc., to share his data-related design work.  Before he came to the United States and started his product design career, he had worked as a Sr. software engineer back in Taiwan for about 6 years, writing full-stack software on WiFi/xDSL router systems.  He has master degrees in both Computer Science and Human-Computer Interaction.

Ian cooks at home a lot, and he loves it!  He is a huge baseball fan, a half-marathon runner, and a ping-pong player.  He loves hiking, travel, and he is a huge animal lover.
